Benburb Priory seeks to appoint a part-time Bookkeeper

Benburb Priory is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and processing accounts (payable and receivable including from donations, rentals, events, and grants).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining Financial Records
  • Providing information as part of the Audit Process
  • Raising Invoices, contracts and donation agreements and inputting onto Sage
  • Posting Receipts onto Sage
  • Credit Control – chasing arrears by phone and in writing
  • Reviewing received Purchase Order Invoices to ensure they match with delivered goods and/or services.
  • Analysis of financial matters as requested
  • Reconciling Debtors and Creditors balances with third party information
  • Counting and recording any cash/credit card receipts
  • Cost Tracking: Accurately tracking and allocating costs associated with the Priory’s varied activities.
  • Undertaking ad hoc accounts and administrative tasks
  • Collaborating with board members, other staff and volunteers to ensure financial accuracy and control.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Job Type: Part-time – 15 hours per week; 3 hours per day (flexible times)

Salary: Salary will be discussed at interview and be dependent upon relevant work experience

Pension Scheme: The OMST operates to the Nest workplace pension scheme.
