Benburb Priory to host Celebration for the Canonization of Carlo Acutis
Posted On: September 3, 2025
Benburb Priory, the historic Servite Manor House nestled in the heart of County Tyrone, will host a special day of prayer and thanksgiving on Sunday, 7th September 2025, to mark the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis.
Livestream of the Canonization from Rome
The celebration will begin with a livestream link of the canonization ceremony from Rome at 9am in the Blue Room, connecting the faithful in Co Tyrone directly to the events at the Vatican. At 11am, a solemn procession with a relic of Carlo Acutis will take place, followed by the opportunity for individual blessings throughout the day.
The central liturgy will be the concelebrated Mass at 3pm, led by Fr John Keane, followed by a Eucharistic healing service.
Petitions placed in the Priory Chapel from Saturday, 6th September will be collected and carried next week to the shrine of the new saint in Assisi, Italy.
Carlo Acutis, often called the “Cyber Apostle of the Eucharist,” was beatified in 2020 for his devotion to the Eucharist and his innovative use of digital media to spread the Catholic faith. His canonization in Rome is a moment of joy for Catholics worldwide, especially for young people inspired by his life of holiness in the digital age.
